Mirenesse Glamm Box - September 2013

Mirenesse is an Australian brand that specialises in makeup and skincare.  I have not tried anything from the brand but have wanted to try a few things from them.  I had heard about their Glamm Boxes a while ago but considering that I had a Lust Have It subscription (which has now lapsed) and now more recently a Bellabox subscription (see my September Bellabox review here), I thought it was a little excessive to throw in yet another subscription.

What I liked about the Mirenesse Glamm Boxes was the option to choose either just skincare, a mixture of skincare and makeup or just makeup. Mirenesse advise the Glam Boxes contain 3 to 5 products and may include at least 1 full size and many travel sizes too.  Lust Have It and Bellabox only offer a mix of skincare and beauty samples.

Glamm Boxes are $19.95 across all three options but also charge postage of $9.75 so a total of $29.70.   There is the option to purchase just a one off box for the month or select autoship in 30, 60, 90 or 120 days.  The difference here is that there is no discount of annual subscriptions and the additional postage charge of $9.75 each month.

I received a free postage offer from Mirenesse with no minimum purchase in late September and for a makeup junkie like me I didn't really need any more convincing.

I chose the Glamm Box only containing makeup products because makeup is my crack, but before you judge me, I think it's one of the cheaper and healthier addictions to have.  The first thing that I notice is that there isn't actually a box, other subscriptions arrive in a cardboard box or makeup bag, but like I need anymore of those things taking up valuable makeup space!

Mirenesse have beautiful packaging, everything is glossy or embossed with lace patterns.  I was quite surprised that I had received three full sized products!

1. 3D Lash Extension Primer - Full Size 4.5g $35.00
The lash extension primer is supposed to condition lashes and provide volume before adding mascara.  I'm a tad skeptical because of the few lash primers I have tried they have all made my lashes rock hard, clump together and look generally unflattering.
Mirenesse seem to be aware of what they are putting in their products.  This primer contains Australian Macadamia extracts and  all the products I have claim to be free from alcohol, parabens, sulphates and fragrance.

2. Cat Eyes Liner Pencil + Smudger - Minx Black - Full Size 0.25g $29.95
This pencil is really smooth and glides on the skin, it smudges beautifully.  The way it smudges reminds me of the Stila Kajal Eye Liner but the Stila one sets after time and this one didn't seem to from swatches.  I haven't used it yet so I can't really comment but I did read on the box that they recommend wearing it under eyeshadow, perhaps this is why.

3. Pearl Crush Creaseless Shadows - Pertunda - Full Size 4g $35.00
These shadows are soft, smooth and well pigmented.  All the colours are lovely, can be worn dry or wet and I can't wait to try them on my eyelids.

I was pretty impressed with the quality overall and I think for the $19.95 I paid, this was definitely a steal considering the total amount for these products adds up to $99.95.  I can't speak for every month but if this standard is consistent, I think that this is worth the $29.70.

What have you tried from Mirenesse? What are your favourite Mirenesse products?

  1. I'm always buying from Mirenesse because they have so many good deals, so I don't think it's worth getting the glam box for me, since I probably already have the products haha! Hope you enjoy these! xx

    1. I know! Before I caved and bought this glamm box there was months of resisting. It's probably not worth it if you have a lot of Mirenesse products but great if you want to try it out. Thanks for the comment :)
